Something that causes extreme disgust, hatred, or loathing, especially in the sight of God. A morally detestable act or practice.

Usage Notes

One of the strongest terms of moral disapproval in KJV. Applied to idolatry, dishonest business practices, and various sins. 'Abomination of desolation' is an apocalyptic term.
